The Team

Dan Dodd, PLA

Dan is the Founding Principal of The Dodd Studio. He received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from The Pennsylvania State University in 1997 and his Masters of Science – Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management from Clemson University in 2001, which provides a distinct approach to projects. After working in a large planning and design firm at the beginning of his career, Dan began The Dodd Studio in 2011 to create a boutique planning and design firm that works hands on with clients to deliver high quality park and recreation spaces. Dan brings a creative, technically sound, and thoughtful approach to each project.

Matt Roper, PE

Matt is an independent civil engineering consultant and President of Roper Civil Engineering. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from NC State in 1994 and Master of Civil Engineering – Water Resources in 1998 also from NC State. Matt collaborates with The Dodd Studio to provide stormwater and erosion control design, as well as necessary permitting. His work is critical to the long term sustainability and functionality of each project

Anna Simpson

Anna is a Planner for The Dodd Studio. She received her Bachelor of Arts – Communication Studies/International Studies from UNC Chapel Hill in 2008 and her Master of City and Regional Planning from Clemson University in 2011. Anna manages project details and communication with clients ensuring projects are kept on time and on budget.

Michael Chumsawang

Michael is a CAD Technician for The Dodd Studio. Michael supports all team members by developing technical project drawings and completing design calculations, an essential role from project start up to project close out. With a strong attention to detail, Michael plays a critical role in the production of each project’s technical elements.
